Our first night of our tour through Smaland we spend in the most luxurious hotel suite on our trip to Sweden. The VOX Hotel in Jönköping invites us to upgrade to its luxury suite. And what that is! Already on entering the suite, we are amazed. Two champagne bucket with ice-cold drinks - in a sparkling wine, in the other slightly alcoholized fruit juice drinks - with ice cubes and chocolates welcome us at the entrance. There is also space for our luggage and a closet in which loosely fit all my clothes.
The luxury suite at the VOX Hotel in Jönköping
From there our view is attracted to the living room of the suite. In the invite a large table with six seats, a sitting area and a fireplace, in which an artificial fire flickers, for a cozy evening. The log fire exudes a wonderful fragrance. Fittingly there is a well-stocked mini bar with wine and champagne glasses, a coffee machine and a sink. Through the windows that extend from the ceiling to the ground, we also look out on Jönköping and Lake Vättern.
The bathroom - a suite in the suite
Even more impressive, however, is the view from the bedroom and the spa area of the suite, which consists of five rooms: a separate washbasin with two sinks, two separate toilets, and one room with a large bathtub that can accommodate two people - and a view of Lake Vättern - a shower that is big enough to dance in, and a sauna with a view of the lake. Our trip to Sweden couldn't start better! Thank you very much, VOX Hotel for this upgrade!
All lights, blinds and temperature settings can also be controlled from a console. The icons on it are so well understood that even I as a layman can handle it well. And although you have the windows in 10. Can not open the hotel floor and we use all the spa facilities, ie moisture rises, the indoor climate in this suite is so outstanding that we do not miss fresh oxygen. As Anne Robertson, the owner of the hotel, explains to us the next morning, they paid special attention to it.
The food at the VOX Hotel in Jönköping
How can it be different? After moving into this luxury suite, the hotel's restaurant awaits us with an equally impressive dinner. In a casual but well-kept ambience we are served a large portion of roe from the Baltic Sea vendace on butter toast with sour cream and pickled red onions for starters. There is Riesling from Austria. The main course is salted and steamed hake with potato cream, brown butter, horseradish and fresh shrimp. And the dessert is a rhubarb parfait with cold rhubarb and vanilla consommé.
The breakfast the next morning we get from the buffet. Its selection is extensive, and sausages and ham, salmon, crunchy vegetables, croissants, soft or hard-boiled eggs, fruit salad, juices and various coffee preparations can finally start the day well-strengthened.
The innovative hotel concept at the VOX Hotel in Jönköping
Then we meet with Anne Robertson, the owner of the hotel, "who has made a dream come true," as she tells us. “Before, I owned a boutique hotel that I sold. I invested the money in this hotel, the concept of which I developed myself and in which I believe. ”Rightly so, as we think, because it is amazing what she shows us on our tour. “A hotel always has to offer guests something better than what they are used to at home,” says Anne.
A hotel has to offer better than the guest has at home
“I remember very well my own trips as a child with my parents, who were not very wealthy. When we checked into hotels, we were always very impressed with the accommodations, which were special for us. Unfortunately, the Swedish private hotel industry overslept this development. Either there are large hotel chains, the hotels of which each meet a certain standard, or there are privately run hotels that are lagging behind today. With our privately owned hotel, we want to give travelers the feeling that an overnight stay in a hotel is something extraordinary. ”
Rooms without windows, but to feel good
It first leads us to the basement of the hotel, from which several guests with suitcases come to meet us. We look at her in astonishment, and she laughs: "Yes, we also have rooms in this part of the house, and even without windows." She leads us into a corridor that looks no different from the one that leads to our luxury suite and opens one of the room doors. Again, we are standing in front of a bed that looks like the bed in our suite. In the associated bathroom, we also find the same noble Italian tiles “at the price of 300 euros per square meter”, as Anne explains to us, just like in the spa area of our suite. "Our hotel offers every guest the room they need for their individual travel needs," she continues.
Room as needed
“There are guests who come to a conference and only spend a few hours a night in the hotel room. They do not need large rooms, have little luggage and only need the room to sleep. Nevertheless, they want to feel good. This is ensured by our facility, which consists of the same high-quality materials throughout the hotel. We also make sure that the indoor climate and the lighting of the room can be easily and individually regulated. Nobody cares that the windows are missing here in the basement. But the prices of these rooms are affordable for everyone. On the upper floors of the hotel, we offer other room variants based on the same principle. So every guest in the VOX Hotel can find exactly the room they need for their stay in Jönköping. ”
Deluxe Room
She then shows us a deluxe room that offers more space and a beautiful view of the city center of Jönköping. Bed, bathroom and room are - like all others - equipped with the same materials. We also see a balcony suite on the top floor, which consists of two rooms with a private balcony. "Here you can enjoy the view of the lake in summer," says Anne Robertson. And the fitness area in the VOX Hotel is not hidden somewhere in the basement either. This is on the 10th floor with a great view of the lake. "Anyone who runs on the treadmill here does so with the feeling of running out onto the lake," says Anne.
Conclusion: at the VOX Hotel in Jönköping every guest will find just the right room for themselves
The purse plays a rather subordinate role at the VOX Hotel in Jönköping. Here the guest is important. We feel this both in our luxury suite, during our tour of the hotel and during the two meals we take in the hotel restaurant. The guest should definitely feel comfortable and find exactly the right room for his needs. We are thrilled with our suite, but also from the overall concept of the hotel. So if you travel to Jönköping, we recommend the VOX Hotel.

Certainly a super hotel. Pure luxury. Spa, sauna, culinary everything from the finest. Wellbeing and luxury is usually aimed at an audience with a big budget. It depends on how to define luxury. Honestly, I hardly know a luxury hotel where I really liked it from the inside out. Well, that's probably because of me, because that's not my world.
Hi Andrew,
There is something for everyone in this hotel. Well, the suite we stayed in was one of the best we have encountered on our travels. But there are also rooms in this hotel from 93, - Euro. These are normal room prices for a hotel. It just depends on what you need the room for. Here everyone can look for what is necessary for his purposes.
Best regards,
Monika
Sweden is a wonderful country for outdoor enthusiasts and as your report shows for luxury fans. Definitely ingenious, when the sauna visit also a moose winking in the window.
I think that's great too. Something similar happened years ago to hot springs in the Yukon. At that time a capital moose strolled in front of me to the springs. However, this hotel in Jönköping would be a little tricky because this sauna is located on the top floor of the hotel and in the middle of the city.
Best regards,
Monika
Lying in the bathtub and looking at the lake, that has something. And a sauna in the suite, what a luxury. Sounds like deep relaxation.
This suite was amazing! Since only the bathing area had five rooms.
