How beautiful Salzburg is in Advent can not only be experienced at the city's Christmas markets. The city is so lavishly decorated at Christmas that a simple stroll through the old town or a visit to the restaurant is enough to get you into the Christmas mood.
The Trapp Family Lodge is located on a side street on a hill above Stowe. From there we have a view of the valley below and the range of hills on the other side of the valley. Our room has a balcony from which we have a panoramic view of the surroundings.
Silent Night, Holy Night and Salzburg have a lot in common. We found that out in Salzburg: Joseph Mohr, the author of the world's most famous Christmas carol - Silent Night, Holy Night - was born in Salzburg.
We pass pastures where black-and-white spotted cows graze on the fresh spring grass. Every now and then, we see a sign advertising a maple syrup farm. Those who come here want to enjoy themselves. And Stowe, Vermont, USA, is the perfect place for that.
