Autumn is a time when regional specialties make their grand entrance – between Harvest Festival and grape harvest, game weeks and goose season. And that's precisely what makes culinary tours through Austria in autumn so special.
At the Loisium Wine & Spa Resort in Langenlois in the Kamptal region of the Waldviertel, we had the opportunity to taste the wines: A dinner at the hotel, a wine tasting at the Steininger Wine Experience World, and a picnic in the vineyards above Langenlois provided us with this opportunity.
We were en route for three days on our Klostergarten route through Lower Austria. We visited five monastery gardens. We promised ourselves a pleasure for the eyes and senses. But the trip held a lot more surprises in store.
Langenlois proudly describes itself as the largest wine town in Austria. The Kamptal wine region, in which the Loisium Wine and Spa Resort is located, is well worth a visit. One thing applies to the region. Connoisseurs and wine lovers come here.
