Portugal campsites

We discovered how beautiful Portugal is on our journey through Alentejo discovered. We were there in January and had the beaches, attractions and towns in between Comporta and the Cabo Sardao almost to ourselves. We noticed again and again vans, mobile homes and campers that we saw in parking lots along the coast. Campsites in Portugal are mostly located by the sea. However, these are few and far between. Even in winter, numerous camping friends are drawn to the sea in Portugal. No wonder! Even in January, the temperatures are up to 10° C during the day. Swimming is then hardly possible, but you have the beaches all to yourself for hours of beach walks. We have seen for ourselves how beautiful it is.

Campsites in Portugal on the Atlantic coast

You should prepare your camping holiday in Portugal well. Wild camping is illegal in Portugal. If you are traveling with a mobile home and need campsites with electricity and water, you should better plan your mobile home vacation well in advance. Because even in November, the campsites in Portugal are full. Simply driving there and finding a well-equipped parking space does not work. On the contrary. Instead, it is worth reserving a campsite for several days. Then you can go on excursions, hikes or spend the day on the beach in peace during the day. In the evening, the reserved parking space will be waiting for you.
