In Dürnstein We stroll through the small streets, as the historical atmosphere is an experience. We visit the castle ruins and enjoy the panoramic view.
The Waldviertel
We also like a holiday in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria, as the combination of nature and culture is unique. One of our trips takes us to the Block heath, where we hike through a landscape full of fascinating rock formations. The peace and the vastness are impressive.

The cellar lanes in the Weinviertel are unique. We stroll through the small alleys, visit open cellars and taste the different wines directly from the winemaker. The atmosphere is relaxed and the people are friendly.
Our tip: Rent a bike and explore the Weinviertel region on two wheels. The bike paths lead through picturesque vineyards and small villages. It's a wonderful way to enjoy the landscape as well as the wine.
The Mostviertel
A holiday in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria is always a special pleasure for us. The region is known for its orchards and the cider roads. We start our trip, for example, with a visit to Stift SeitenstettenThe monastery and the garden are impressive and invite you to linger.
Another highlight is the MoststraßeWe drive along this route and discover numerous cider factories. The tastings are a delight and we learn a lot about the production of cider. The landscape along the cider route is beautiful and inspires walks.
That too Stift Lilienfeld is one of our favorites. The architecture of the monastery is fascinating and the tranquility of the place is relaxing. We also take time to explore the surroundings and absorb the history of the monastery.
Finally, our trip in the Mostviertel will end with a hike to the Muckenkogel on the program. The cable car ride is definitely worth it, because the view from the top is breathtaking.
