Discover Spa Hotels in the Mostviertel

Wellness hotels in Mostviertel ensure a feel-good experience in the region between Amstetten, Seitenstetten, Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Purgstall an der Erlauf and the Danube. They are not the only ones doing this. Around the Moststraße in Lower Austria concentrate Pleasure experiences. Cider barons produce pear cider from the fruits of pear trees.

The trees have been growing here for centuries. Originally the must was given to the workers to work in the fields. Or the miners along the Iron Road took it with them. This meant they could quench their thirst on the way to work. For a long time, cider was considered a drink for the poor. Only a few years ago a few cider farmers founded an association. Their goal was to improve the reputation of the must.

During our drive through the Mostviertel and the visits to the cider farms, we are surprised how people celebrate the drink. Much is reminiscent of rituals that revolve around wine. Most Barone serve brettl snacks with bacon, ham, eggs, cucumber and other delicacies with must products. A trip on the Moststraße quickly becomes a tour to savor. What could be better than an overnight stay in a wellness hotel? This is how we add wellness to enjoyment. 1. Dear Monika, dear Petar,
the Mostregion looks really nice. It almost invites you. The library in side sites would interest me very much. I love old libraries. And against good food is generally nothing to complain about.
    Best regards, Selda.

    1. Dear Selda,

We're the same with old libraries. I would like to spend hours in it and just browse the books. Especially in monasteries one often finds such gems.

      Best regards,
      Monika

  2. The Mostviertel is really a very special region in Austria. Unfortunately, I know too little of it so far, that must be changed! ;-) Thank's for the Tipps!

    1. Hello Saskia,

the cider region is a real insider tip for connoisseurs. Especially in spring it is especially nice there.

  4. I know the beautiful Mostviertel even - I am Austrian;) And your statement that the Austrian cuisine is tasty I can only fully agree. I am now looking forward to home leave and hearty home cooking.

    Greetings from Switzerland,

    1. Dear Michaela,

We are also big fans of Austrian cuisine. That's not only in the Mostviertel. In Switzerland you eat well, right?

      Best regards,
      Monika

  5. That sounds very wonderful. A Brettljausen I know more coupled with wine, but it looks really very tasty. On a bit of exploring, wellness and co, I could now thank you very well for your article :)

    Many greetings,
    Lynn

    1. Dear Lynn,

haha, I feel the same way. I would like to get in the car and drive there straight away. After a hike or a road trip through the hilly landscape of the Mostviertel, it is fun to relax in one of the wine taverns in the region, to enjoy a snack and a glass of cider. This is also exciting on the “Day of the Most”, when the Mosthöfe are open to visitors. Then there is a real celebration.

      Best regards,
      Monika

  6. In fact, I have never heard of this area as a North German, but especially the library in the Stift Seitenstetten it has done to me visually very. I would have liked to see more pictures of that.
    Thank you for your report.

  7. How nice, the region can certainly be explored well with a normal bike, but if you drink most everywhere, then it's also interesting ...;)

    1. Dear Eve,

Of course, that works if you do not mind steep hills. But with a glass of must everything is easier :).

      Best regards,
      Monika

  8. What a beautiful region! Going for a hike and then feasting on something fresh from a nearby farm - sounds really tempting.

    LG Nicole
